[ And indeed, that’s one benefit from having their trees so near each other. Ienzo just needed to mark where he was in his research before grabbing his coat and leaving. ]
(no subject)
Hey En, what's up?
(no subject)
[ Ienzo gave him a small smile, feeling a little shy and sheepish. After their not-really-a-date, or maybe an Demyx-only-thinks-I-saved-him-from-an-auction-date … he’s been wondering how to resolve his knot of feelings inside. ]
[ By mostly burying himself in research. ]
[ Look when you only had one coping mechanism … ]
[ But he’s not avoiding Demyx, that seemed cruel and unfair to his friend. He’d always come over and help if asked. And he sat down beside him now. ]
Just a little preoccupied by a few personal projects - but not so preoccupied I can’t help a friend. How are you, Demyx? What’s this about Vanitas?
(no subject)
You know how Vanitas is like...gone, right? Uh. Do you think there's anything we could do to change it? Because I was talking to him and I think...
I think he wants to come back too.
(no subject)
Yes. I know.
And … theoretically, it should be possible. [ Ienzo quickly adds; ] But that assumes several factors.
You remember how we managed to bring Roxas back? We have Vanitas here already. All of his data - his memories, his heart - are here.
But … [ Ienzo looked down. ]
(no subject)
But if this world exists, and we got here, there must be a way to get back?
[ That makes sense to him. ]
Like, I know Vanitas is here right now, but what if you found a way to drag him and Sora back?
(no subject)
[ He sighed. ] But that might be a better plan than the initial theory I was suggesting. Because it would require me remembering this dream accurately when I wake up - and I have no proof that I will nor timeframe for when that might happen.
[ Ienzo sighed again, head tilting, tapping his knee. ]
But is directly connecting this dream world to our reality too risky? [ He needed more data. ]
(no subject)
He hums. ]
Risky? Maybe a little but most worlds we can get to are interconnected, even if you can't see it. [ He can see it though. At least, he can see the corridors. ]
There probably is some kind of connection, but we'd have to find it. I can dig around the dark corridors, but I have a feeling you're not gonna let me do that.
Folkmore - Ienzo's Place
So he's hoping for the best.
That's why he's knocking at his door one afternoon. ]
(no subject)
Just a moment!
[ Just, let him flail around and find - of course it rolled under his bed. Ienzo clicked it back into the side of his relic and then got up to answer the door. ]
[ As a result, he looked a little disheveled - but his surprised expression had a smile. ] Oh, Demyx. Hey.
(no subject)
[ Demyx answers cheerfully, as though he wasn't waiting for Ienzo to do...well presumably nerd stuff, that's why he's so out of sorts right? ]
This a bad time?
(no subject)
No, it’s fine. I’m glad to see you.
Would you like to come in?
(no subject)
[ Demyx flashes him a smile and steps inside. ]
What were you up to?
(no subject)
Um. Can I ... get you anything ...
[ It's a small, though tidy, dorm room. Ienzo has books crammed into any spare corner he can get into, but there is also a mini-fridge, a computer, and a bed in here. Mostly, though, he used his relic. It's handy. ]
[ He blushed slightly. ]
I've got, er, water, and I could make us tea too. I've got an electric kettle. [ It's also good for cup noodles! ]
(no subject)
What kind of lecture is it?
(no subject)
[ He tilted his head. ]
I’m taking a course on extended multiversal chemistry. It seems like there’s a lot of elements which exist in certain realities that don’t in others - their chemical properties and interactions when they all come into contact with each other in this reality is fascinating. Especially considering how some of them are from universes that contain magic, which may or may not enhance or create unique elements of their own.
(no subject)
I guess that's something different, with all the worlds here. Do you think it works like that at home too?
(no subject)
I’m hoping I can get away with writing a thesis on how our reality’s multiverse functions similarly, and how the interactions between worlds differ there, too. But it’d need to be entirely theoretical, so I don’t know if they’ll allow it.
… I’m planning to write it for fun, all the same, even if I’m not submitting it for a grade.
(no subject)
Yeah, I don't know what kind of graded work they're looking for. The class I'm in doesn't really do that kind of thing.
[ He struck a deal with Baba Yaga. ]

[ The kettle beeps, and Ienzo pours the hot water over the teabags in his two mugs. After considering, he decided to give Demyx the one that said 'this is acute angle' with a little blushing face on an acute angle; instead of his which said 'do you have change for a paradigm'. ]
How's that been going?
(no subject)
Check this out.
[ He raises a hand, but instead of perhaps the expected rush of water, instead he seems to be manipulating something else. It's not visible really, not at first, just the slightest bit of shift in the air - and that's exactly right, by the time it's accumulating into a ball, compressing, it becomes obvious that it's the air that Demyx is manipulating. ]
(no subject)
[ Oh, wait - ] Demyx, that's amazing.
[ Genuinely impressed. He's gathering air. ] Truly incredible, that must have been very difficult to try and master - and there are an incredible amount of applications if you can manipulate air and its density. That would also mean you can change temperature within ...
[ He cleared his throat ] I mean. That's really cool.
(no subject)
Right? [ He even meant the nerd stuff. ]
I'm totally going to go out to the desert and make a storm.
[ Because he was pretty sure he could now. ]
(no subject)
[ Slight blush; ] Of course, if you'd prefer to experiment with your skills initially without an audience, I'd understand.
1/2
[ Maybe. Ienzo has a tendency to understand things he doesn't, and all the feeling magic in the world doesn't necessarily mean he'll get it. ]
But uhhhh that's not really why I came by today.
(no subject)
[ He rubs the back of his neck a little awkwardly. ]
Oh right.
[ Ta-da, with a splash of water he summons some flowers. ]
