[ Ienzo smiled shyly, and went to make them both some tea with his kettle. ]
[ He tilted his head. ]
I’m taking a course on extended multiversal chemistry. It seems like there’s a lot of elements which exist in certain realities that don’t in others - their chemical properties and interactions when they all come into contact with each other in this reality is fascinating. Especially considering how some of them are from universes that contain magic, which may or may not enhance or create unique elements of their own.
[ Demyx doesn't follow all of that, but he nods like he does, just listening to Ienzo explain it. He's never gonna understand the fascination with chemistry, but as long as Ienzo's having fun, that's good. ]
I guess that's something different, with all the worlds here. Do you think it works like that at home too?
That’s my working theory. [ He smiled brightly at Demyx. He knew sometimes he … got carried away, and went over his head. But Demyx was clever, and he didn’t just tune him out. He took the bits he understood and asked important questions. ]
I’m hoping I can get away with writing a thesis on how our reality’s multiverse functions similarly, and how the interactions between worlds differ there, too. But it’d need to be entirely theoretical, so I don’t know if they’ll allow it.
… I’m planning to write it for fun, all the same, even if I’m not submitting it for a grade.
[ The kettle beeps, and Ienzo pours the hot water over the teabags in his two mugs. After considering, he decided to give Demyx the one that said 'this is acute angle' with a little blushing face on an acute angle; instead of his which said 'do you have change for a paradigm'. ]
[ Demyx accepts the drink not really registering the nerd joke on the mug. It's okay, he doesn't have to get it anyway. He does however grin at Ienzo. ]
Check this out.
[ He raises a hand, but instead of perhaps the expected rush of water, instead he seems to be manipulating something else. It's not visible really, not at first, just the slightest bit of shift in the air - and that's exactly right, by the time it's accumulating into a ball, compressing, it becomes obvious that it's the air that Demyx is manipulating. ]
[ Ienzo was very observant, but he wasn't entirely certain what was happening at first. He didn't see any kind of water from the usual hand motion - was there something else being gathered there? Some kind of energy, perhaps? Or was whatever he doing not worki- ]
[ Oh, wait - ] Demyx, that's amazing.
[ Genuinely impressed. He's gathering air. ] Truly incredible, that must have been very difficult to try and master - and there are an incredible amount of applications if you can manipulate air and its density. That would also mean you can change temperature within ...
[ He cleared his throat ] I mean. That's really cool.

Yeah, I don't know what kind of graded work they're looking for. The class I'm in doesn't really do that kind of thing.
[ He struck a deal with Baba Yaga. ]

How's that been going?

Right? [ He even meant the nerd stuff. ]
I'm totally going to go out to the desert and make a storm.
[ Because he was pretty sure he could now. ]

[ Slight blush; ] Of course, if you'd prefer to experiment with your skills initially without an audience, I'd understand.
1/2
[ Maybe. Ienzo has a tendency to understand things he doesn't, and all the feeling magic in the world doesn't necessarily mean he'll get it. ]
But uhhhh that's not really why I came by today.

[ He rubs the back of his neck a little awkwardly. ]
Oh right.
[ Ta-da, with a splash of water he summons some flowers. ]
